Dr. Santosh Kumar is Senior Technical Advisor: Quality Assurance, UPHSSP, a world Bank Initiatives.He has done PGDHHM (equivalent to MBA), M.Phil in Health and Hospital Management System from BITS Pilani and Tulane University and PhD in Healthcare from BITS Pilani. Dr. Kumar has over 18 years of experience of managing healthcare facilities, consulting, teaching and training in India, Bhutan, Switzerland, Afghanistan and Myanmar.

In the year 2004, he got Inwent (GIZ), Germany’s fellowship to attend one month’s training program on district health management organized by College of Public health, University of Philippines. During Oct-Dec 2011, Dr. Kumar volunteered with the department of Patient Safety, WHO, Geneva.He is a two times recipient of WHO young professional fellowship to participate ISQUA’s Patient Safety conferences held in Denmark, Hong Kong and Armstrong Institute, Baltimore, USA.He is an experienced evaluator and he has worked as team leader in projects related to health systems, HMIS, Healthcare Quality and Hospital Planning and Project Mgt.He has served as member of various national and international committees such as Global Committee on Surgical Safety, WHO Geneva, Research Committee with Asian Quality of Healthcare Organisations(ASQua), Committee on Hospital Planning and Design, BIS, GoI and Sub Committee on “Hospital Standards” set up by MOHFW GoI, under clinical establishment Act.

Dr. Kumar has written over 10 research articles and authored a book on “Healthcare Quality: Assessment and Improvement”. He has guided over 40 MBA and PhD Students for their dissertation work.
